Italian Linen Cotton Hand Towels

The beautiful Tessitura Pardi Benozzo Gozzoli Linen Cotton Small Italian Hand Towel collection takes inspiration from frescoes painted by Benozzo Gozzoli in the church of San Francesco, Montefalco – from 1450-1452.  The church is located near the Pardi textile mill.  The towel is elegantly woven with a beautiful ornamental scroll design which features a larger medallion in the center of the towel and a narrower ornamental scroll design with a center frame at the top and bottom of the towel. The fabric is mixed with a specific thread color noted below and white thread that features a looser, slightly more open weave design.  The towel is sewn with a wider, 1″ seam on the top and bottom of the towel and simple seam on the sides. Above the top and bottom hems is similar to a hemstitch finish. The towel is woven with a 50% linen and 50% cotton blend and is slightly firmer to the touch and will soften as it is washed. The contrasting color of the threads provide a unique and lovely dimension to this towel. The towel is sized at approximately 29.5″ x 19.7″ (74.9cm x 50cm) and can vary slightly. For best results, please see wash and care instructions. The price includes 1 hand towel. The towel is woven and imported from Italy.

A smaller, 1″ single initial monogram can be selected for the front side center frame just above the bottom hem. Please note that a larger monogram size above 1″ will not work within this center frame.

Towel colors include Pink, Yellow, Lavender, Turquoise (Sky Blue tones), Emerald Green, Royal Blue, Anthracite, and Black.

  • Machine wash cold in like colors in a temperature of 86 degrees Fahrenheit or 30 degrees Celsius or no higher than warm 104 degrees Fahrenheit or 40 degrees Celsius. Hang to dry. Tumble air dry to soften. Iron if desired. Do not bleach or use fabric softeners.
  • For fringed towels, secure fringe together using a hair band.
  • Machine wash warm at a temperature of 30 degrees Celsius / 86 degrees Fahrenheit (cold) or no higher than 40 degrees Celsius / 104 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Do not bleach or use fabric softeners.
  • Remove linens as soon as possible from the washer to avoid excess wrinkles.
  • Dry naturally. It is best not to tumble dry linen as this can over dry the fibers and makes ironing more difficult. A line or rod is perfect or just lie flat to dry. If you smooth the wrinkles out with your hands at this point, then pressing becomes even easier. Tumble air dry to soften.
  • Always iron linen when slightly damp as this is the ideal time to press them.? Iron on the underside (reverse side). In replace of an iron, textile steamers are excellent for pressing/removing wrinkles from linen. If the linen has already dried out before ironing, use a water spray to re-dampen it - a good steam iron will work best on linen.
  • The rustica, linen cotton blends, and pure linen will soften as it is washed.
