Back to the basics, the Chosen Leatherwork Premium Full Grain Leather Study Bible Cover, Horween Dublin Olde English is handcrafted using a premium full grain leather from Horween in the USA.  The rustic/rugged leather bible cover features a simple design to serve its’ fundamental purpose. This product is the Bible cover only and does not include a Bible. This Bible cover is designed to fit our Thomas Nelson NKJV and KJV Study Bibles (except the ‘Kids’) and has some additional room for other items you may add to your Bible. We also offer optional personalization on the front cover. The Bible is hand sewn and burnished.

Please note that given this is a full grain leather, there will be texture and color variations throughout areas of the product, including cowhide scars and other hide markings which gives it a rustic, rugged and natural look.  The oils and waxes can take differently due to a number of factors that will cause the color to vary. Bible Size Compatibility (see link above): Designed for the Thomas Nelson NKJV and KJV Study Bibles with the following measurements: End-to-end approximately 15 to 15.5″ (measuring tape wrapped around Bible) and a max. height of 9.5″. The front cover width is approximately 6.5 to 6.75″ W and the spine size will range from 2.25 to 2.5″ W. Leather and Tannery

We use a Horween Dublin Old English leather. Dublin is a veg tan leather infused with a rich blend of natural waxes and then hot plated. It features a rugged (rustic and worn) look and burnishes to a patina over time. The leather brags a strong and distinctive pull-up and a natural leather grain. The Horween Leather Company has been making quality leathers since 1905. Horween leather is processed onsite at their location in Chicago, Illinois, USA.

Dublin is tanned using Cordovan vegetable tanning liquor formulas which are over 100 years old. Within the tanning process, the leather incorporates a richer blend of oils and waxes than traditional vegetable tanned leathers, which results in a leather that will age beautifully.

We use Saphir Renovateur (with a chamois soft cloth) as a finish for this hand-made leather product.  Saphir Renovateur Cream is a higher quality leather goods conditioner containing beeswax, lanolin and mink oil.  It gently cleans while adding nourishment and protection to the leather. Renovateur Cream is highly regarded by leather care specialists.
