This refillable Chosen Leatherwork Signature Italian Leather A5 Notebook Cover, Daily Prayer Journal will encourage and inspire daily use.  This is a perfect companion to daily prayers and devotions and other creative ideas, journaling, writings, thoughts, or daily lists and activities. Important Note: This product does not include an A5 sized notebook or planner, only the leather cover.  The A5 notebook and pen shown in photo are to illustrate fit and construction. This premium full grain leather is smooth with light pebbling and has a glossy finish. The Invecchiato leather in cognac is from the Conceria La Bretagna tannery in Tuscany, Italy.  The handcrafted leather journal notebook cover features a single, magnetic snap closure, an ample size left side flap for keeping important information or supplemental booklets. The notebook cover also has a medium size leather pen holder on the interior left side. The notebook journal cover has been designed to fit the Leuchtturm1917 A5 hardcover notebooks or planners and also enables access to the elastic enclosure band on the Leuchtturm1917 notebook.  Please note that there will be texture, color variations throughout areas of the product which gives it a beautiful and natural look. About the Leather

The Invecchiato tannage was developed in 1967 is described as “sweet shades, delicate contrasts of color, and eternal beauty.” As perhaps the most famous of all La Bretagna leathers, the Invecchiato tannage represents the soul, pride and history of the tannery. The leather is tumbled (milled), which provides a slight pebbled grain texture. The leather is then hand stained on a natural base. The tumbling helps the hand staining process because it allows for better stain absorption which therefore presents a double tone ‘marbled’ coloring effect offering unique character to every piece. Finally, the leather is ironed, which creates a glossy finish and smooths out the leather grain while keeping a light pebbling.

The dye is not struck through. Color is dyed only on the grain.  The back side is natural.  The leather is soft with a medium temper (stiffness).

About the Tannery

La Bretagna was established in 1961 and is still run by the same Testi family in Tuscany, Italy. With the intention to source the best quality raw materials, La Bretagna sources nearly all of its hides from a region in France called “La Bretagne”, thus the name. Being a 100% vegetable tannery, the tanneries ethos revolves around sustainability with a focus on the earth and the environment.
