Sometimes all you need are the basics to carry and go. No bulk. Nothing heavy. The Chosen Leatherwork Museum Shell Cordovan Leather Classic Card Wallet in Cognac features 3 slots – 2 card slots and a folded cash slot in the middle and is hand sewn. The Shell Cordovan has a very beautiful and unique look and feel. The leather is wonderful to the touch. The size is 2.75″ L x 4.25″ W x approximately .25″ deep and is hand sewn with a braided wax polyester thread for strength and durability.  The card wallet includes the Chosen Leatherwork hand stamped logo on one side of the card wallet in the right lower corner. Optional stamped monogram available (up to 3 initials).  Some photos show optional monogram. Please note that there will be texture, color variations throughout areas of the product which gives it a beautiful and natural look. Handmade in the USA and leather imported from Italy.

Card Wallet Specifications

Tannery:  The leather tannery, ROCADO is located in the Tuscany region of Italy and was established in 1982. Their products include traditional tanning techniques while carefully updated with modern technology. Their leather is still worked by hand, as it has been for many generations.
Leather: Museum Shell Cordovan is a vegetable tan leather with dense, tight fibers. The top grain is smooth with glaze and the flesh side (backside) is smooth and soft.  The leather is hand dyed with a tea-colored core. The shell cordovan world-famous leather is made of a specific layer of hide – cordovan. The cordovan layer exists only in equine hides and has its maximum thickness on the rump area. One horse hide yields only two small oval pieces of cordovan – two shells. Using the centuries-old method of pure vegetable tannage and hand finishing, the tanning process takes a full six months to complete.

We use Saphir Renovateur (with a chamois soft cloth) as a finish for this hand-made leather product.  Saphir Renovateur Cream is a higher quality leather goods conditioner containing beeswax, lanolin and mink oil.  It gently cleans while adding nourishment and protection to the leather.
